Boiler Accessories

These accessories can help you maintain and extend the usefulness of your boiler. Boiler feed systems and blowdown separators help with the functioning and maintenance of your boiler – helping to extend its useful life. Copper coils enable your boiler to produce potable hot water without taking up additional floor space.

BOILER FEED SYSTEMS

Columbia’s boiler feed systems simplify and automate adding feed water to your commercial/industrial boiler system. Adding the right amount of feed water at the right time is one of many systems which can save you time and extend the life of your Columbia Boiler to two decades or longer.

Boiler Feed System Features

  • Float operated make-up valve automatically admits new water to replace water lost through steam not returned to the tank
  • A turbine pump driven by a heavy-duty drip-proof motor automatically adds feed water to your boiler as needed to help ensure a long boiler life
  • Heavy gauge steel construction with ample capacity for your commercial boiler system; tank sizes from 22 to 200 gallons
  • The strainer prevents foreign material from entering the make-up valve – eliminating the risk of repairs or damage due to clogging
  • High suction pipe prevents sediment from entering pump, extending the life of the impeller and raceway
  • Water level gauge makes it ease monitor your feed system water level
  • Provisions for thermometer and sparge tubes for easy setup
  • CRT and VRT configurations to neatly and easily fit in your boiler room
  • Discharge pressure: 15 or 150 PSI, for use with low pressure or high pressure boiler
  • Boiler size range: 1 to 200 HP

BLOWDOWN SEPARATORS

The blowdown separator has two primary functions. The first is to handle the bottom blowdown water coming from the boiler. A boiler valve allows water to drain out of the bottom of the boiler to clean out solids that accumulate in the boiler. If left in the boiler, these solids can cause corrosion and decrease the boiler’s efficiency. The water coming out of the boiler is dangerously hot. The blowdown separator contains the water until it is cool enough to discharge safely. The second function of the blowdown separator is to manage hot water at the top of the boiler. It keeps the boiler water within the specification limits to improve the boiler efficiency, improve steam quality, and reduce maintenance.

Blowdown Separator Features

  • Supports safe and efficient boiler operation
  • Prevents buildup of harmful solids to help protect the boiler from corrosion
  • Reduces boiler scale to help the boiler run efficiently and extend its useful life
  • Designed for low and high-pressure boilers
  • Boiler size range: 15 HP to 200 HP
  • Handhole for easy access and cleaning
  • An operator can introduce cold water to reduce water temperature for safe discharge
  • Configured to neatly and easily fit in your boiler room
  • ASME stamped, and National Board Approved

Recommended Optional Equipment

These options make it easier to monitor your blowdown separator.

  • 0 – 100lb pressure gauge
  • 0 – 200 degree temperature gauge
  • Water level gauge
  • Automatic cooling bellows type valve

COPPER COILS

With the addition of copper coils, your boiler can produce potable hot water with little energy and without taking up any valuable floor space. The copper coils reside inside the boiler and transfer heat from the boiler to the clean water inside the coils. We size the coils to meet your hot water requirements. In essence, the copper coils turn your boiler into a tankless water heater.
